Juhi Chawla’s infectious smile, dreamy prettiness and her old-fashioned charm have played a winning game, time and again as she skipped from a Ms. India winner to an actress.

Juhi Chawla was born on 13th November 1967 in Ludhiana, Punjab. Her parents are Dr.S.Chawla and Mona. She has a younger brother Sanjeev. Satish Anand, a film distributor in Karachi, Pakistan is her uncle.
She studied at the Sydenham College, Mumbai. She won the Ms.India-Universe title in 1984 and the Best Costume Award at the Miss Universe contest.
She married industrialist Jai Mehta in a hush-hush ceremony in 1997. They have two children, a daughter called Jhanvi and a son Arjun.
The couple recently became co-owners of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders along with Red Chillies Entertainment. She is also the co-founder of Dreamz Unlimited, a production company with co-star Shah Rukh Khan and director Aziz Mirza.

1986 to 1990 Juhi Chawla’s debut was Sultanat in 1986. She then worked in movies in the South in 1997 like the Kannada movie Premaloka and Kindara Jogi, Tamil movie Parvaragam. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in which she played a star crossed lover Rashmi was a hit. She signed up for several movies like Love Love Love, Shandaar, Swarg, Kaafila and Prathibandh.
1991 to 1995 In 1991, she acted in several Hindi, Tamil and Telugu movies. Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman with Shah Rukh Khan and Bol Radha Bol with Rishi Kapoor, released in 1992 did well. The year 1993 was one of her best years as Darr immortalized as Kiran and in Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke she played Vaijanthi Iyer that won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. She followed this up with Shatranj, Eena Meena Deeka, Andaz, Ram Jaane and Naajayaz.
1996 to 2001 She had a mix of hits and misses between 1996 and 2006 like Aziz Mirza’s Yes Boss with Shah Rukh Khan; a romantic comedy Ishq with Aamir Khan, Kajol and Ajay Devgan; Mahesh Bhatt’s Duplicate and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which was released by Dreamz Unlimited of which she was a co-owner.
2002 to 2005 Chawla returned back to movies after two years and was more selective with her roles and moved away from mainstream cinema with releases like Nagesh Kukunoor’s 3 Deewarein that received critical acclaim; as Shanti in Jhankaar Beats and My Brother Nikhil in 2005 that was about AIDS and her role as Anamika is said to be one of her best performances.
2006 to 2009 Bas Ek Pal, Salaam-e-Ishq, Bhoothnath and Kismat Konnection were her other releases. She is part of the star cast of Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance, playing the role of Minty Rolly.
